How it Works:  The Overall Health measurement uses metrics such as heart rate, heart rate variability, respiratory rate, stress level, sleep position, posture, sleep breathing index and energy level to collect information about the state of your Autonomic Nervous System (ANS). Sleep, Activity, Body Mass Index and Stress Level.  Stress, Aging, Sleep and Energy Level module data is included into rejiva's proprietary algorithm to give you a sense of your overall health.  rejiva allows module assessments to be collected automatically or whenever you choose to take a test.

Stress

Manage Stress.

Modern life is full of hassles, deadlines, frustrations, and demands. For many people, stress is so commonplace that it has become a way of life. Stress in small doses can help you perform under pressure and motivate you to do your best. But when you’re constantly running in emergency mode, your mind and body pay the price.

Beyond a certain point, stress stops being helpful and starts causing major damage to your health, mood, productivity, relationships, and quality of life. Stress affects the mind, body, and behavior in many ways, and everyone experiences stress differently.

How it Works:  The rejiva Stress Module provides the means for continuous stress monitoring and alerts on instant stress changes. It helps prevent users from being stressed by giving an early alert prior to being in any harmful stress state. The Stress Module provides an ability to treat the stress before it can harm the organism and thereby reduces the negative impact on your body.

While going through your daily activities, rejiva monitors your stress level. When your stress level is medium or high, it prompts you to go through a 5-minutes De-Stress session.

De-Stress is a stress management training tool based on well-established deep breathing yoga exercise. It’s a 5 to 15 minute paced breathing session which can be repeated when necessary.  This tool provides a training mechanism with biofeedback that allows a person to control his/her breathing pattern. Deep slow breathing causes significant synchronous changes in blood pressure inside of your chest due to respective changes in chest volume. This process stimulates the Autonomic Nervous System to compensate changes in blood pressure and causes rhythmic reflexive changes in heart rate, leading to the body's increased resistance to stress.

Aging

Age Gracefully.

Humans have been looking for a way to slow aging likely since the first person got wrinkles. Studies have shown that the quest could be worthwhile. Scientists have found that even a moderate decrease in aging would boost our lifespans by more than 2 years and stave off ill health in the elderly.

Biological Aging is the underlying risk factor for most complications as we grow older. This means slowing the aging process would not just add years to our lives, but it also may postpone illnesses such as cancer, diabetes, and heart disease that primarily strike the elderly.

How It Works:  The Aging Module can help you slow biological aging.  The Biological Age test gives you an accurate assessment of your true biological age, the direction of your aging trend (older or younger), as well as the momentum or aging speed.

This biological age test is calculated based on the body's ANS (autonomic nervous system) response on paced breathing. This method is backed-up by more than 15 years of scientific research being used to evaluate the risk of myocardial infarction and overall health condition of the body. Years ago only doctors or clinical scientists could perform this test, now anyone with a rejiva patch can perform this test in 1 minute.

How will this information help you become biologically younger? Using this tool you'll be able to see how your biological age is affected by weight, exercise habits, diet, stress levels, lifestyle choices, etc.  As you make changes in your lifestyle, Biological Age testing will help you correlate improvements in your health with your real biological age.

Rest

Restorative Sleep.

According to the National Institute of Health, the average adult sleeps less than seven hours per night. In today’s fast-paced society, six or seven hours of sleep may sound pretty good. In reality, though, it’s a recipe for chronic sleep deprivation. There is a big difference between the amount of sleep you can get by on and the amount you need to function optimally. Just because you're able to operate on seven hours of sleep doesn't mean you wouldn't feel a lot better and get more done if you spent an extra hour or two in bed.

Adequate sleep is essential for energy, health, productivity, and emotional balance. While sleep requirements vary slightly from person to person, most healthy adults need between seven and a half to nine hours of sleep per night to function at their best. And despite the notion that our sleep needs decrease with age, older people still need at least seven and a half to eight hours of sleep.

Sleep:  rejiva monitors your breathing pattern and body positions during sleep for the presence of breathing disturbances.  Our proprietary algorithm correlates your breathing pattern with the ability to get a good night's sleep.  The Sleep Module provides tips on a variety of different practices that are necessary to have a normal, quality nighttime sleep and full daytime alertness.

Energy

Track Energy.

Exercising regularly is one of the healthiest things you can do for yourself. It lowers the risk for serious health problems, including heart disease, diabetes, stroke, and high blood pressure. And not only is exercise good for your body and sleep, it’s also good for your mind, mood, and memory.

Being physically active can ease depression, relieve stress, enhance self-esteem, and improve your entire outlook on life. Whatever your age, health limitations, or fitness level, you can develop an exercise program that’s fun and rewarding and fits your life.

Healthy eating is essential for energy and fitness.  It means developing a well-balanced, satisfying relationship with food. Your food choices can reduce your risk of illnesses such as heart disease, cancer, and diabetes, as well increase your energy, stabilize your weight, and boost your mood.

Energy Tracker:  Energy tracker reflects the body's readiness to withstand physical exertion. For an athlete, this will help you gain a competitive edge, while a beginner needs to know his/her energy level to determine an optimal fitness regimen for overall health.  Energy Tracker helps you get the most out of your exercise.

Did you know that when you over-train you stop making progress and can even begin to lose strength, overall energy and fit level?  Whether you are getting ready to hit the gym or going for a walk, the Energy Test will help you determine what workload is best for you or the best time to exercise. Your body’s energy level readings are sensitive to the levels of exhaustion, stress and fatigue found in your body.  Improvements in strength and fitness occur only during the rest period following hard exertion. This process takes at least 12-24 hours to complete. With an imbalance of high exertion and insufficient rest, your energy level will eventually plateau and decline. Proper balance between high exertion and sufficient rest will create healthy energy levels.

How it Works: Energy Tracker is based on one of the most accurate methods of fitness assessment. Our analysis of the autonomic nervous system responds to a simple standup maneuver. The standup maneuver causes heart rate to rise within the first 10-15 seconds when standing up because blood pressure drops due to gravitational redistribution of the blood mass. The cardiovascular system attempts to compensate for being in the upright position by constricting peripheral blood vessels. As a result, blood pressure returns to its normal level and heart rate drops. This serves as the basis for determining the body’s energy level.

Inner Balance

Find Inner Balance.

Yoga has been shown to help fight stress while improving serenity.  According to the Mayo Clinic, "Yoga is considered a mind-body type of complementary and alternative medicine practice. Yoga brings together physical and mental disciplines to achieve peacefulness of body and mind, helping you relax and manage stress and anxiety."

One of the most important ways yoga can benefit your cardiovascular health is by increasing heart rate variability (HRV).

Breathing exercises that promote deep inhalation and exhalation causes HRV changes influenced by the parasympathetic nervous system (PNS), and counterbalanced by the adrenaline producing sympathetic nervous system (SNS).  When PNS predominates, HRV is high during deep breathing, stress is reduced, and health is promoted.  Understanding the relationship between PNS and SNS will help you achieve the necessary balance that reduces stress, manages chronic conditions, and improves fitness.

Since rejiva measures HRV, for the first time, anyone can achieve the benefits that have been understood and achieved by yogis for centuries.

How it Works:  rejiva will record your most recent Stress Module Recording.  The Stress Module dashboard will reveal your Inner Balance, Relaxation or Stress Level.  Tapping on any level will reveal the impact on the PNS and ANS, and will provide information about organ and body function.  The De-Stress Test is always available to improve upon the current level.

SELF ASSESSMENT

(The S.O.A.P. Evaluation)

the rejiva App includes an Evaluation that correlates your own personal assessment with its objective evaluations.  Together, you will get a complete view of your overall health as it relates to your daily life, activities and behaviors.

Subjective Assessment

Our vitality is derived from these sources:  sun, food, water, and air.  It is then restored in the Deep Sleep state.   This assessment is based on well accepted health guidelines.

Once a complete module evaluation is presented in the app, you will be asked to input brief answers about your environment and bodily functions i.e. Are you eating well?  Are you sleeping well?  Are you drinking well?

This will help append your overall health score based on your own observations.

Objective Evaluation

Behind the scenes, rejiva is constantly analyzing your HRV and relating findings to the four modules.  This evaluation is calculated by combining the module scores: Objective Evaluation is calculated by combining the module score:  Overall Health = ANS + Aging + Sleep + Energy + BMI

Assessment of Results

The subjective and objective observations collectively give an overall score.

Fun: People should view their healthy lifestyles as sources of fun and even self-expression.

“Exercise your brain this week with a new puzzle. Challenging your mind will build connections in your brain and help you fight early onset memory loss.”

Simple: Many of us like the path of least resistance as the healthier path.

“Seven hours of sleep a night not only helps you live longer, but also lowers your stress, sharpens your memory, and reduces cravings for pants-splitting foods.”

Worthy: Less dramatic goals work too — as long as they’re specific and meaningful.

“Cancer-proof your diet: Add papaya and cashews to your grocery list. One papaya per week may protect you from cervical cancer, while 12 cashews a day can help reduce your risk for colon cancer.”

Expanding: Stress and social isolation are strongly associated with illness.

“Sage tea can boost your mood and make you feel less anxious. Mix it with black tea and be sure to brew it for 5 to 10 minutes to improve the taste.”
